Our Process

Autism Clinic London is a Community Paediatric Consultant-led service with highly experienced doctors and multidisciplinary professionals. We provide Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for children between the ages of 2 and 12 years. We can provide both virtual and face-to-face assessments.

How do our Private Assessments Work

Step One
Step Two
Step Three
Step Four
Step Five

initial video consultation

In this initial 15-minute video consultation with a Specialist Doctor, we will gather your concerns about your child, and review any previous reports to determine whether a full autism assessment is required. This initial session costs £49.

Observation and Interactive Session

After the initial 15-minute video consultation, a full assessment may be recommended for the price of £1,625*.

This will start with gathering further information from the educational setting with your consent (if applicable). Then an observational assessment (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – ADOS-2) will take place to assess your child’s social communication, interaction and play by carrying out different tasks. This will be completed face-to-face at our Harley Street or Paddington clinic.

* Please see Our Prices page for information on special pricing for low-income families.

Physical examination

A  30-minute physical examination by one of our Specialist Doctors will take place at our Harley Street or Paddington Clinic. If your child is under five years old, we will also carry out a developmental assessment (Schedule of Growing Skills 2- SOGS-2).

Diagnostic Interview with Feedback

A 90-minute diagnostic video interview with the parent will take place with one of our Specialist Doctors (this will include questions relating to your child’s medical and developmental history).

During this virtual appointment, our Specialist Doctor will also observe/interact with your child in their home environment.

Following this, your Doctor will review all the clinical information from the previous assessments, as well as any additional information provided, and will feedback the outcome to you.

Post Diagnostic Care

If your child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, you will be provided with:

• The post-diagnostic resource pack from Autism Clinic London to support your child’s needs.
• Information about optional post-diagnostic support available from Autism Clinic London.

More information on our post-diagnostic services can be found here and on our Instagram feed.

Keeping your data secure

Protecting and securing patient data is of key importance. Every person, team, and organisation deserves and expects their data to be secure and confidential. Safeguarding this data is a critical responsibility that we take very seriously.

We log, monitor and audit all system calls and have alerting in place that indicates a potential intrusion. Analysis of logs is automated to the extent practical to detect potential issues and alert responsible personnel.
