Seeing us Virtually

Your assessment will take place in the comfort of your own home. You can use any device with a built-in web-camera and speaker, such as a desktop, laptop, or tablet.

You may have been asked to get some toys ready for the assessment, if so, please have these nearby. You will need a private quiet space for the consultation.

You will be sent a simple and secure link to our virtual video platform. Join by simply clicking the link at the time of your appointment. No need to download any software.

In the virtual diagnostic interview, you will see a Paediatrician (children’s doctor) who has been specially trained to do this assessment. They will ask you questions about your child’s health and well-being.

In the virtual observation assessment by a speech and language therapist or psychologist, the therapist will ask you and your child to do some activities and play some games. They will watch and may talk to you about your child’s friends and school.

If the connection drops you can try to reconnect by clicking on the same link. If this is not possible the clinician will call you on the telephone number we have on your record.

The clinician will explain the findings of the assessment. They will explain whether any further appointments are needed, who these will be with, and where they will take place.

You can ask the clinician any questions you may have.

At the end of the appointment, you can end the video call and the clinician will no longer be able to see or hear you.
