Autism Clinic London is a Community Paediatric Consultant-Led Autism Spectrum Disorder service providing both virtual and face-toface diagnostic assessments for children between the age of 2 and 12 years. Our highly experienced clinicians use the best available technology to provide a CQC accredited service, in line with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) standards.
Dr Ahmed Ahmed
Dr Ahmed works as a consultant Paediatrician in Child Development and Neuro-disability at Hilingdon Child Development Centre, London Borough of Hillingdon. Dr Ahmed graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum, Sudan. He started his Career in Sudan, and the completed the rest of his postgraduate training in the Eastern Deanery, Cambridge, UK. Dr Ahmed also worked abroad for 2 years as a Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, Dubai. Dr Ahmed is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK.
Dr Ahmed has significant experience in working with children present with various developmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and learning difficulties as well as associated comorbidities. Dr Ahmed contributed to the development of autism services in Hillingdon, and was part of the team that first set up and worked for the learning disabilities and challenging behaviour services. Dr Ahmed works as part of a large multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team including health, educational, social care and third sector professionals. Dr Ahmed also played part in setting up and running children and parents’ support groups.
Dr Ricky Ahuja
Dr Ahuja is a Specialist Community Paediatrician working at East London NHS Foundation trust.
He is trained in carrying out Developmental, Dimensional and Diagnostic (3di) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments and carries out more than 150 ASD diagnostic assessments a year.
After completing his MBBS and BSc in Sports Medicine (Hons) from Bart’s and the London in 2007, Dr Ahuja gained a National Training Number in Paediatrics in London for his early Paediatric training. He has since been working as a Community Paediatrician for over 10 years.
He was previously the NICE Panel representative and Clinical Lead at Greenwich for Sleep Disorders in children with ASD. He is also a Clinical Appraiser.
He is passionate about promoting education within Community Paediatrics and in 2014 co-founded The Paediatric Community (www.thepaediatriccommunity.com), an educational initiative that provides high quality Paediatric courses in line with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
Having a physical disability himself, Dr Ahuja is passionate about ensuring all children, despite their difficulties, have the best support to achieve their full potential.
In his spare time, Dr Ahuja enjoys kayaking, snorkeling and watching Manchester United win.
Ali Alidina
Ali Alidina is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over 8 years’ experience supporting service users with communication and interaction needs in the NHS. He is currently working with the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and is registered with the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT) and with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
He has extensive experience working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMHN) and a range of communication and interaction presentations.
He is trained in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).
Ali is passionate about supporting service users and their network to recognise their strengths and reach their goals in education, employment and in their community.
In his spare time Ali enjoys hiking and looking for good spots to sit and read outdoors.
Renolda Antonyrajah
Renolda is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who has broad experience working with children and families from different cultural backgrounds.
She completed her Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Speech and Language Therapy at City University of London and is registered with both the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
Renolda is clinically specialised in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated communication difficulties, with a clinical interest in ASD and Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC). She has over 18 years experience working in the NHS and private sector.
She has extensive experience of working with children and young people with ASD in early years, mainstream schools, specialist ASD provisions and special schools providing specialist assessments, therapy and training to families and schools including teletherapy. She is also a Team Leader and provides clinical supervision for junior Speech and Language Therapists.
She also works at the Child Development Centre with the ASD diagnostic team in East London and is trained and highly specialised in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Developmental Diagnostic Dimensional Interview (3di).
Renolda also works in a multidisciplinary team for developing and delivering Post Autism Diagnostic Workshops and Come and Problem Solve (CAPS) workshops for parents.
Renolda is passionate about supporting children to communicate to their full potential within their natural environment and play. She is enthusiastic about informing, educating and empowering parents and teachers to support and improve their children’s communication skills.
In her spare time, Renolda enjoys gardening and cake decorating as well as playing the keyboard at small gatherings.
Dr Sukanta Banerjee
Dr Banerjee is a Lead Consultant Paediatrician and has worked in the NHS for 45 years including community paediatrics for 41 years. She graduated from the University of Delhi in India. She started her training in paediatrics in Delhi.
She moved to the UK in 1978 to finish her training. She has worked as a community paediatrician since 1983 and was appointed as a substantive consultant in 1996.
Dr Banerjee was clinical lead for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at several NHS trusts including Haringey Community Specialist and Young People’s Services, East Hertfordshire NHS Foundation Trust, Tower Hamlets and East London Foundation trust.
She developed a joint Paediatric and Child Psychiatry pathway for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and also developed a sleep service for children with ASD and ADHD in Haringey and East Hertfordshire. She also led the Neurodisability service and was the clinical lead in Community Paediatrics in Haringey and East Hertfordshire.
Dr Banerjee is passionate about promoting education in Community Paediatrics. She started a multidisciplinary continual professional development (CPD) programme for Community Paediatricians at Haringey and Tower Hamlets. She also co-founded The Paediatric Community, an educational initiative which provides high quality Paediatric courses.
In her spare time, she volunteers for a charity for children with additional needs, enjoys reading and singing with friends.
Emily Bishop
Emily Bishop is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist having completed her postgraduate diploma (PGDip) in Speech and Language Therapy at City University 25 years ago. Since then she has been working as a Speech and Language therapist with children and young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other speech, language and communication needs in an East London NHS Trust.
She has extensive experience of working in community clinics, early years settings and schools and within multi disciplinary teams.
Currently she specialises in working with children with ASD and their families and works as part of a diagnostic team and is trained in using specialist assessment tools such as Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Developmental Diagnostic Dimensional Interview (3di).
She is also trained in a variety of therapeutic interventions including Parents and Children Together (PACT), Intensive Interaction, Attention Autism and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
She is passionate about supporting families, fostering communication between parents/carers and their children and helping children with ASD develop their confidence to express themselves to their maximum potential. She strongly believes that early intervention and inclusive environments are key to achieving the best outcomes for a child or young person.
In her spare time she enjoys yoga, hiking, cooking and live music.
Latife Eskisan
Latife Eskisan has extensive experience working as a Senior Assistant Psychologist in an Autism diagnostic service where she supported the assessment process and provided post-diagnostic support to families. She is currently a Trainee Specialist Child Therapist working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Learning Disabilities. She works at West London NHS Foundation Trust and is completing her Postgraduate diploma in Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) programme at University College London (UCL).
After completing her BSc in Psychology from the University of Westminster in 2017, Latife has been working with ASD children and their families in a number of settings including education, social care and children mental health services. Latife has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Children’s Psychological Wellbeing Practice (from UCL) and qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist supporting children with anxiety, depression and behaviour.
Latife is passionate about increasing access to services for families from disadvantaged and minority backgrounds. She is especially interested in work around destigmatising ASD diagnosis within the community and uses a strengths-based approach in her therapeutic work.
In her spare time she enjoys content creation and painting.
Sarah Gelli
Sarah Gelli is a Principal Speech and Language Therapist working for Oxleas NHS Trust in Greenwich and within the private sector. Sarah graduated from University College London in 2005, and has over 15 years clinical experience working in the NHS. She is a registered member with both Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Sarah’s clinical expertise is in supporting children with complex learning and medical needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with or without other co-morbidities. Sarah is driven to help each child achieve to their full potential, enabling them to participate in the activities that bring them joy. Sarah has extensive experience in supporting students with ASD both in mainstream and special school settings, providing assessment, diagnosis, therapy, training, consultation and support to parents and school staff. Sarah is a Principal therapist in the area of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and is able to assess children with ASD who may benefit from access to a communication device.
Sarah has travelled extensively and given support to children with ASD both in West Africa and South America. Sarah is passionate about raising awareness of communication disorders and providing training for others, and is involved in helping establish the first Speech and Language Therapy degree course in Ghana, West Africa, providing mentoring and lecturing for the students and therapists.
Sarah is a mum of three young children and so in her spare time can often be found pushing a swing in a playground or making mud pies! She also enjoys baking and eating out.
DR MATTHEW HOLLOCKS
Dr Matthew Hollocks is a Clinical Psychologist in the Service for Complex Autism and Associated Neurodevelopmental Disorders (SCAAND) at the Maudsley Hospital and a clinical academic at King’s College London, where he conducts research on co-occurring mental health difficulties in autism. He has a particular clinical interest in the assessment complex neurodevelopmental presentations and the application of psychological intervention in this population. He has over ten years’ experience working with children and adolescents with autism across both clinical and research settings.
Dr Hollocks undertook research training at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, King’s College London, completing a PhD investigating co-occurring anxiety in children with autism. This was followed by a period of post-doctoral research at the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Cambridge. Here he conducted research investigating the brain changes associated with depression and apathy in neurological diseases. He then completed his training in clinical psychology, including specialist placements at the Cambridge Centre for Paediatric Neuropsychological Rehabilitation and in child development services.
Zainab Issa
Zainab is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, who has extensive experience working across various sectors which include the school and early years (under 5’s) settings.
In 2017, Zainab obtained her Undergraduate BSc with honours in Speech and Language Therapy at City University of London and is a registered member of the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Since graduating, Zainab has served the Newham community, offering a wide array of Specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to a diverse and inclusive community.
Zainab is clinically specialised in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and she also has a passion in the area of Dysfluency. She is currently working within the Autism Diagnostic Service in Newham as well as the Early Years assessment and therapy team. She provides clinical and managerial supervison to junior therapists.
Zainab holds formal training in various Speech and Language assessments and interventions including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2 (ADOS-2). She has a keen desire to deliver pre and post- diagnostic care to families, supporting them closely along their unique journey.
In her spare time, Zainab enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. She is an avid traveller who loves to star-gaze and seek out scenic views. She enjoys reading books and learning about other cultures.
Ayman Jeraj
Ayman is a Principal Speech and Language Therapist, with over a decade of experience in the NHS, encompassing both clinical and management roles. She holds a BSc in Speech Sciences from University College London and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Her expertise spans across the early years to 18 years of age, and she has extensive experience in providing assessment and therapy to children with various speech, language and communication needs including social communication difficulties and Autism. She is trained in administering the ADOS-2 assessment with years of experience working within multidisciplinary diagnostic teams to assess for Autism.
Ayman is committed to empowering children, young people and their families, working closely with them to develop meaningful and functional skills and helping them to achieve their individual potential.
Giulia Maccarini
Giulia Maccarini is a Psychologist working at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, across Hammersmith, Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea boroughs. She covers the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Service carrying out screening and diagnostic assessments and post-diagnostic support for patients. She is trained in Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) for both children and adults.
She is a qualified as a Highly Specialist Counselling Psychologist with more than 10 years experience. She has a BSc in Psychology from Anhembi Morumbi University (Brazil), a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in neuroscience from King’s College London and specialisations in Early Childhood Development, Autism Spectrum and Cognitive behaviour therapy from Applied Psychology Institute (Brazil).
Giulia is passionate about working with mental health in the neurodevelopmental setting and being able to provide a better quality of life for children through psychoeducation providing support for families and patients during and after the diagnostic process.
In her spare time, she enjoys singing musical theatre songs and reading as many books as she can.
Dr Karthi Sujay Manoharan
Dr Sujay Manoharan is a Consultant Community Paediatrician working at North East London NHS Foundation Trust.
She trained in Paediatrics at the East of England region and has over 5 years of Community Paediatric experience.
She is trained in carrying out Developmental, Dimensional and Diagnostic (3di) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments.
She is passionate about medical education and is an honorary lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University. She has also been an examiner for medical school exams.
In her spare time she enjoys singing, playing keyboard and reading books.
Dr. Fouzia Moolla
Dr Moolla is a Specialist Community Paediatrician working at Tower Hamlets, Barts Health NHS trust. She is trained in carrying out Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised (ADI-R) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) assessments.
Dr Moolla completed her MBChB in 1998 at The Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine in Durban, South Africa. She relocated to the UK in 2002 and has been working as a Community Paediatrician for over 10 years. Dr Moolla has extensive experience in working with children and young people across a variety of settings and cultures. She understands the importance of recognising a child’s unique qualities in order to help them reach their true potential. She approaches each child with patience, empathy and kindness.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, swimming, running, diving and surfing.
Dr Nicola Reynolds
Dr Nicola Reynolds works as a Principal Clinical Psychologist and is the Clinical Lead for an integrated neurodevelopmental team in the London borough of Greenwich. She completed her Doctorate at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and neuroscience in 2007. She is also Deputy Clinical Director for Mental Health at the Health Innovation Network.
Dr Reynolds has extensive experience of working in specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) services and has specialised in working with children and young people presenting with neurodevelopmental needs for over 13 years. In addition to undertaking specialist diagnostic assessments for ASD and ADHD she has experience of delivering therapeutic interventions, such as CBT and EMDR. She is also an accredited ADOS trainer and provides training on ASD assessments to NHS colleagues. Dr Reynolds works in the NHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team and led on the development of an integrated neurodevelopmental team, bringing together CAMHS and Specialist Children’s services. She has been the clinical lead for this team for seven years.
In her spare time Dr Reynolds is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Dr Shweta Sardesai
Dr Sardesai is a Consultant Community Paediatrician working for Oxleas NHS trust in Greenwich. She has over 5 years of experience in Community Paediatrics and 18 years of Paediatric experience in various subspecialties. Her areas of interest are Neurodisability and Special Educational Needs and she works as a Designated doctor for SEN in Greenwich.
Dr Sardesai is trained to administer Autism diagnostic interview- ADI-R to diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and has extensive experience of conducting ASD assessments.
In her spare time, Dr Sardesai enjoys running. She is also a keen golf enthusiast.
Liz Wells
Liz Wells is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) working at East London NHS Foundation Trust and within the private sector. Liz completed her Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Speech and Language Therapy at City University, London, and has been working as an SLT for over 9 years. She is a registered member of both Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Liz is passionate about working with children and their families to help them achieve their own, unique potential. She advocates for a person-centred approach, understanding that every child is an individual and that communication is key.
Liz has extensive experience of working with young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across both the Early Years and Schools settings, providing assessment, therapy and training to families and schools. She has provided specialist support to children in ASD Resource Provisions and is proficient a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including those for early communication skills, language, speech, fluency and behaviour. Liz is trained and highly experienced in carrying out ADOS-2 assessments. She is enthusiastic about working with children and young people from a variety of social and cultural backgrounds and is a flexible, compassionate and dedicated therapist. She also provides clinical supervision.
In her spare time she enjoys testing out recipes on her young family and discovering new music.
Dr Ioannis Dimitropoulos
Dr Dimitropoulos is a Consultant Community Paediatrician with extensive experience in developmental paediatrics, neurodisability, and social paediatrics.
He obtained his Medical Degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, followed by a Master’s Degree in Clinical Paediatrics & Research from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He also holds a Diploma in Paediatric Neurodisability from Sheffield Children’s Hospital, accredited by the British Academy of Childhood Disability. He completed his specialist training (CCT) in Paediatrics at Athens Children’s Hospital “Aghia Sophia.”
Dr Dimitropoulos has a wealth of experience working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds across various settings. He has led the Developmental Advisory Clinic and previously served as the medical lead of the Autism Diagnostic Service at East London NHS Foundation Trust.
He is trained and certified in the use of several developmental assessment and diagnostic tools, including ADI-R, ADOS-2, Griffiths III and Bayley-4 scales of child development.
Dr Dimitropoulos is dedicated to advocating for every child’s right to high-quality healthcare and support. He strives to provide personalised care tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and their family.
Dr Rachel Brocklebank
Dr Rachel Brocklebank is a Consultant Paediatrician, specialising in Community Paediatrics.
She has worked for the East and North Hertfordshire NHS trust since 2014.
Dr Brocklebank graduated from Leicester University medical school in 2001, was awarded membership of the Royal college of Paediatrics in 2005 and obtained an MSc in community child health from University College London in 2011.
She did her post graduate training in hospitals in Leicester, Australia, North London and Hertfordshire. She has specialised in developmental paediatrics and is involved in the diagnostic process of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and learning difficulties as well as their associated co-morbidities.
In her spare time, Dr Brocklebank enjoys playing the saxophone in a community wind band.
Dr Najib Yusuf
Dr Najib Yusuf is a Consultant Paediatrician who has worked in the NHS for 40 years including in Community Paediatrics for 35 years. He has worked in all parts of the United Kingdom including Cambridge, Cornwall and Scotland, and in the latter part of his NHS career in the Hillingdon Child Development Centre.
He graduated from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka where he worked in a
wide variety of positions including Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology before moving to the United Kingdom for post graduate studies in 1982.
He has wide experience in all areas of neurodisability including the diagnosis of
Autism Spectrum Disorders and management of associated co-morbidities. His work has involved multidisciplinary working within the health sector as well as across the caring sectors.
His extracurricular activities include travelling and supporting religious charities.
Dr Rakesh Tailor
Dr Tailor is a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in neurodevelopment and neurodisability, as well as an interest in the aetiology of hearing loss in young people.
He was awarded his medical degree (MBBS) with clinical distinction from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospital Medical School and a BSc. from King’s College London.
He completed his core paediatric training in the East of England Deanery, before moving to the Oxford Deanery to complete subspecialty training in Community Child Health.
Following his training, he has worked as an NHS consultant for Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. He is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, as well as an executive member of the British Association of Paediatricians in Audiology.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing five-a-side football weekly, and spending quality time with his young family during his weekends.
Dr Bridget Mulvany
Dr Bridget Mulvany is a Consultant Community Paediatrician at Whittington Health NHS Trust, based in Haringey.
She qualified in 2004, obtaining her MBBS from University College London. She went on to specialise in Paediatrics and then further subspecialise in Community Child Health, entering the specialist register in 2020. Dr Mulvany completed her post graduate training in North London and has 9 years experience of Community Paediatrics. She is trained in carrying out Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview- revised (ADI-R). She has an interest in trauma informed practice and is a Medical Advisor for Adopt London North.
In her spare time, Dr Mulvany enjoys listening to audiobooks, cooking and spending time with her children and two cats.
Amy Dunk
Amy is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with a broad range of experience in supporting autistic children, young people and their families. Since receiving her qualification in 2014, Amy has worked in both the NHS and in independent practise. She is currently a Senior Speech and Language Therapist in the Autism and Related Disorders diagnostic team for Evelina London’s Community Paediatric Service.
Amy strives to champion neurodiversity in her work, recognising each child and young person’s potential and uniqueness with the aim to encourage and nurture these qualities. This includes advocating for inclusion, employing a strength-based approach and ensuring that interventions are ethical and in collaboration with families.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys cycling, decorating/DIY and quality time spent with friends and family.
Mei Man
Mei is a community paediatric dietitian working for Oxleas NHS Foundation trust in Greenwich. She is registered with the HCPC, British Dietetic Association and is a member of the BDA Paediatric Special interest group.
She completed her dietetics degree at Kings College London in 2008 and has worked in community services since, specialising in paediatrics in the last 12 years. She has extensive experience working with children with ARFID, feeding tubes and faltering growth.
Mei is trained in Behaviour change techniques and the SOS Approach to feeding and is passionate about supporting families to improve their children’s diets.
When not working Mei can be found doing her best at parenting and when time allows, at the theatre enjoying a musical.
Dr Harsha Wickramarachchi
Dr Wickramarachchi is a Specialist Community Paediatrician working at East London NHS foundation trust.
He has worked in the United Kingdom in acute NHS trusts since 2001 in general paediatrics, neonates and subspecialities including paediatric neurology and metabolic medicine at St. Thomas’s/Evelina Hospitals.
After completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree (MBBS) he was awarded the membership of Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health (MRCPCH) and has worked as a community paediatrician in the UK for over 17 years. Within this period he also worked as a locum consultant in community paediatrics.
He is trained in administering Developmental Diagnostic Dimensional Interview (3Di) and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and has extensive experience conducting Autism assessments.
In addition to his specific interest in assessment, investigation and management of children with Autism, he has gathered experience and continues to work in the team for children with movement disorders, various forms of neurodisability and genetic disorders and lead the regional enuresis service for children with nocturnal bedwetting. He is also passionate about promoting education and tutors in Paediatric courses.
He is a firm believer that Autism is a superpower, it just needs to be understood and supported properly to make it the best tool one can ever have in life to achieve beyond imagination.
In his spare time, Dr Wickramarachchi enjoys music, cricket, badminton and holidaying to explore nature.
Katie Parker
Katie Parker is a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) and also the Clinical Lead for Children’s OT services in Redbridge.
She has an MA (Hons) in Psychology, MSc in OT and a PG Cert in Sensory Integration. She has been a qualified OT for over 13 years and has been working with children and young people for 11 years. She is a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council and Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT).
She has extensive experience working with children with Developmental Coordination Disorder, Autism and Cerebral Palsy. She feels passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals and developmental milestones.
In her spare time, She enjoys yoga, eating out and spending time with her family.
Paige Frankson
Paige Frankson is a Senior Assistant Psychologist working in the community paediatric autism assessment team in Newham, with East London NHS Foundation Trust. She is passionate about providing neuroaffirmative care, empowering parents as experts of their children, and using a person-centred, strengths-based approach. She currently conducts autism assessments with young people using the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), school visits, and her clinical judgement.
Paige graduated from the University of Surrey in 2020, completing a BSc in Psychology. Her career thus far has focused on supporting individuals with communication needs such as autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. She worked on a tier 4 CAMHS ward for one year, supporting adolescents with severe mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions. She then spent one year and a half completing adult autism assessments and supporting autistic adults on mental health wards and in the community, providing short-term interventions and staff training. Paige has been conducting autism assessments with children since March 2023 in Newham, and she enjoys supporting autistic individuals across the lifespan.
Paige is starting the Clinical Psychology Doctorate course with the University of Hertfordshire in September 2024, which she is excited about broadening her knowledge of different psychological approaches. She is keen to utilise her neurodevelopmental experiences to think about adapting current models of care to apply to neurodivergent individuals. Paige is interested in the concept of girls masking autistic traits, and the impact of trauma on autistic individuals.
In her spare time, Paige enjoys going to the gym, exploring new places with friends, and finding hidden coffee shops.
Dr Farheen Mirza-Rizwan
Dr Farheen Mirza-Rizwan MBBS PGDipCCH MSc CAMH is an accomplished developmental paediatrician with a wealth of clinical experience and excellent skills. She qualified as a doctor in 1987 and did her core training in Pakistan.
Dr Mirza has been working as a paediatrician since 1993 and as a neuro-developmental paediatrician since 2001. She did her Post-Graduate Diploma in Community Child Health from Warwick University and Masters in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from University College London (UCL). Her NHS role included assessing and managing children and young people referred for range of behaviour and developmental problems. These included pervasive and neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism, ADHD and sleep difficulties. She was responsible for safeguarding assessment of children for physical and emotional abuse, writing reports for the social services and statements for police when requested. She regularly advised and contributed to the functioning of the multi-disciplinary professionals.
Dr Mirza was the Medical Adviser for Adoption and member of the Adoption Panel. She carried out Adoption medicals of Looked after children, validating medicals of prospective adopters done by their GPs. She also met the prospective adopters and advised them regarding the prospective child to be adopted.
Dr Mirza is a member of the British Association of Community Child Health (BACCH), British Association of Adoption and Fostering (CORAM BAAF) and Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH).
Dr Mirza believes in giving back to the community. She has supported various NGOs, held neurodevelopmental clinics and trained people abroad
