Post Diagnostic care

At Autism Clinic London we believe that after your child receives a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), they should be well supported to reach their full potential. We are able to offer a range of services to support you and your child in a variety of ways.

Educational Psychology (EHCP) Assessment

This report can be used as evidence to apply for an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The full assessment will be complete within 4 weeks of booking confirmation. Please note, we only see children with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism.

Our process has three steps. Firstly, there will be an initial video consultation with the parents or carers, followed by a video consultation with the child’s educational setting. To conclude, a face-to-face assessment with your child at either our Harley Street or Paddington clinic. Once all steps are complete, we will share a report with you.

  1. Initial video consultation with parents
In this initial 1-hour video consultation with one of our Educational Psychologists, we will discuss your concerns and gather information about your child’s development as well as their strengths and needs, and review any previous reports.
  2. Video consultation with educational setting
In order to develop a clearer understanding of your child’s strengths and needs/challenges in school, we will conduct a video consultation with your child’s current educational setting. This will last up to 1 hour. You and your child are not required to be on this call.
  3. Face-to-face Assessment
This will be completed face-to-face at our Harley Street or Paddington clinic. We will use different assessment tools or techniques to explore factors that influence your child’s access to education. This can include cognitive assessment and/or other suitable assessment tools. Both you and your child are required at this assessment. The assessment may last up to 2 hours.

Educational Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) Report
Following this, your Educational Psychologist will review all the clinical information from the previous assessments, as well as any additional information provided, and will feedback the outcome to you in the form of a full written report. The report will identify the specific type and nature of your child’s Special Educational Needs and will detail recommendations for Special Educational provision to meet your child’s needs along with what positive outcomes these provisions will deliver. The report will be delivered to you via our secure online platform. You will be able to submit this report to your Local Authority or educational setting in order to progress with the provision required.
